Description
“Malam Almu, this illness is no laughing matter; it overrides everything else in life. Therefore, there is no need to ask us for permission to visit home. Just get yourself ready; here is your transport money. Use this to take her to the hospital. May Allah grant her health and make this illness an expiation for her sins. Will you be leaving today or tomorrow? We are also heading to the airport today to pick up Bilal, as he is returning home.”
“Oh, Masha Allah! Is Alhaji Bilal returning today? In that case, let me wait until he arrives first; I think that would be better.”
Mammah, who had been listening to them, cut in directly, saying, “No, Malam Almu, I do not support that idea. Go ahead, since you will eventually return anyway. Your mother needs you, and she needs to be taken to the hospital. In fact, if you see that her condition is not improving, just bring her back here with you tomorrow so she can be treated at a proper hospital. That would be much better.”
The security guard showered Mammah and Yaya Ja'afar with endless gratitude, tears welling up in his eyes. He felt a deep sense of pity and amazement at the sheer goodness of these servants of Allah. Because of this, whenever he remembered his true purpose for staying in this house with them, his heart would waver regarding his mission. He stood up, wiping away tears whose true cause only he knew, and walked out…
The security guard quickly packed his things and handed over the gate keys to the new driver, just as Ja'afar and the others had instructed. He left, calculating in his mind that he wouldn't spend more than two days away; if he didn't return within three days, he would certainly be back by the morning of the fourth day, *In sha Allah*. This was because his mother wasn't actually sick as he had claimed—his boss had simply ordered him to report to him with absolute urgency today.
His birth mother had actually passed away a long time ago. He had been raised by a stepmother whose severe cruelty and abuse had hardened him into the man he was today. At Mammah’s house, however, they only knew him as a complete, honorable gentleman because of how flawlessly he hid his true identity from them…
*Uh-oh, a new twist with the security guard!* 🤔🤐🏃🏼♀️
★ DUBAI ★
Despite how hard Hajiya Hasiba and her crew tried to travel to India to investigate Adeel, it proved impossible. On the very day she tried to use a clever excuse about a business trip to India, Adeel informed her that he had already finalized their travel arrangements. He told her to wait until they returned before she could go, or better yet, she should have whatever business or company documents brought directly to her. Hearing this, she quickly backtracked, saying it was no problem—they could make their trip first and she would handle her business afterward.
His arrangements didn't truly frighten her until he confirmed that Nabeeha and the others would be coming along as well. When she asked for his reasoning, he stated that his mind would be more at ease if she was there with him, rather than leaving her behind where something might happen to her. He certainly possessed the immense power and authority to have her tracked wherever she went within the country, but he didn't want that. Aside from his one and only close friend, no one else knew that he was tracking Nabeeha or that he intended to marry her.
When you are dealing with someone who holds all the cards, you have no choice but to comply, so they reluctantly began packing their bags. However, Nabeeha and Ismat’s hearts were filled with absolute joy. Mamawo was equally thrilled because, if nothing else, she harbored her own secret designs regarding Adeel; she believed that going to their home country would make it much easier to fulfill her hidden agenda, unlike being here where certain obstacles might stop her. Amima and Raihana, on the other hand, despised this trip. To be completely honest, they loved their luxurious lifestyle in Dubai so much that they hated even thinking about returning to their country of birth. This was exactly why they resented Nabeeha so intensely for refusing to cooperate and play along with him. By Allah, if Adeel had shown interest in either one of them instead, this story would have played out very differently... Chas! ✍️
They arrived in the dead of night. Since they landed in the capital city, Adeel booked a magnificent, ultra-luxurious hotel—the kind of high-end establishment that surpassed all others in standard and beauty. As for Hajiya Hasiba and her family, they lodged at her house. Back in Dubai, Adeel had made it clear that he didn't want anyone knowing they were traveling together until he wrapped up his business and they could all return.
Admittedly, the house was large, though not overwhelmingly massive. It was a six-bedroom house with three living rooms. There was a guest wing with one bedroom, a ground floor with a living room and two bedrooms, and an upstairs section featuring a living room and three bedrooms. The kitchen was on the ground floor. Way out by the gate stood the security guard's quarters. The guard, his wife, and their two children were the only ones living on the property permanently, and the wife worked as their housekeeper whenever the family was in town. For this reason, Hajiya Hasiba had informed the guard of their arrival while they were still abroad. The guard's wife had spent the entire day thoroughly scrubbing the house clean. In the afternoon, a private chef arrived to prepare their meals, leaving everything perfectly arranged on the dining table before departing, as she did not stay overnight.
Even before Hajiya Hasiba entered politics, she was incredibly wealthy, with money flowing to her through every possible avenue. Her close ties to the nation's elite, particularly the First Lady, had greatly amplified her wealth and connected her to high-profile figures involved in businesses best left unmentioned (🥱🤭🤫). In fact, this very house had been gifted to her entirely for free, as easily as pouring beans out of a can onto a plate 🥱🤣. And now, Adeel had made her even wealthier.
Even though they weren't particularly exhausted from the flight, everyone was groaning and complaining of tiredness. They all collapsed onto the ground-floor living room couches to catch their breath while the security guard and his wife bustled about, bringing in their luggage and showering them with welcomes. It took a while before they managed to drag themselves upstairs, where all the bedrooms were located, including Mamawo's, who rarely spent much time in the country anyway. They showered first before helping themselves to the food. Once they finished eating, everyone retired to bed. The next morning, they didn't wake up until nearly noon. They showered and headed downstairs in search of food, finding that Joy had already prepared everything, including lunch. They descended upon the food ravenously until everyone was completely stuffed.
Around 3:00 PM, Nabeeha announced that she wanted to go to her own house to pick up something. Instantly, both Mamawo and their mother unleashed a torrent of angry scolding upon her. At first, she stayed silent, but eventually, she burst into tears. This softened their hearts, and her mother told her to go get ready, but stipulated that Ismat and the others must accompany her so they could return together. However, since it was already late afternoon, she insisted they wait until tomorrow. Nabeeha didn't argue and agreed to the terms…
