Description
The rain fell in torrents, washing over the trees that surrounded the house's courtyard. Slowly, the cars began to park in the compound, which was beautifully illuminated with captivating, stress-relieving lights. One of the security guards quickly got out of his car and ran to open the door for his master. The master extended his legs out for a couple of minutes before finally stepping out completely, looking around as if trying to comprehend something.
He looked around at the environment whose atmosphere was hard to define. The soldiers guarding him stood rigidly at attention, showing absolute discipline and respect. His children ran toward him, shouting, "Daddy is here! Daddy is here!" They hugged him, laughing. He gave a sophisticated smile, then walked over to his mother, bowed respectfully, and said in his pleasant, husky voice, "Welcome, My Ammy!" She placed her hand on his head and replied, "Welcome back, my last-born. I only heard this morning from your brother that you were on your way. I hope all is well." He rubbed his hair, stood up, and headed toward a section of the house, asking, "Everything is fine, Ammy. Where are your girls?" She sighed and said, "They have all gone to the Quranic school." He went into his designated apartment, which was impeccably clean and well-arranged.
He entered his bedroom, set down his luggage, and began taking off his heavy clothes. Feeling exhausted, he took a drink from the mini-fridge, drank it, and collapsed onto the bed under the duvet. He was truly exhausted, but his thoughts immediately drifted to his intense affection for his lover, Deedah. He knew he had to play his cards right because his parents were eager to arrange a marriage for him, whereas his heart was completely set on Deedah.
He lay there, his mind filled with anxiety about their relationship. In his life, he had never defied his parents' wishes except when it came to Deedah. She was the only woman he truly loved, but he remembered how his parents had warned him from the very beginning that she was not the right kind of woman for him.
He let out a heavy sigh just as his phone began to ring. He connected his Bluetooth earpiece, stretched, and answered. Deedah, knowing his serious nature, spoke fondly to him, asking where he was. He told her he was back home and asked her to meet him at his guest house in 20 minutes. She agreed, and they playfully teased each other about how much they had missed one another.
He didn't waste time; he drove out of the house to the guest house, stopping by to buy grilled chicken, yogurt, and snacks. He arrived, parked, and set the food on the table in the parlor. Before he knew it, Deedah embraced him from behind, kissing him affectionately. They looked deeply into each other's eyes. He smiled at her beautiful features, and they shared a passionate, romantic moment on the couch, deeply expressing how much they had longed for each other over the past six months.
After spending time together, they rested. He looked at her and asked seriously, "When are we getting married?" Deedah replied quickly, "I am very eager, but you haven't made the official move yet." He closed his eyes and said, "The keys to your new car are over there, and I will transfer money into your account. Be ready. Before I return to Texas in two months, I want us to be married. I worry when you are away from me, but always remember that you are the wife of Captain Fu'ad Mus'ab Jollore, the chairman of the Jollore Group of companies."
He then went to freshen up. Meanwhile, his father, Alhaji Mus'ab Jollore, called his phone. Fu'ad answered respectfully, apologizing for his delay, and promised he was on his way to the main house, though his heart was filled with anxiety about how to bring up the marriage issue to his father for the third time.
He parked at the main family compound. Upstairs, his father was reviewing some magazines and reports. In the main parlor, his younger sisters, Hauwa and Zahrah, were playing Ludo while Ammy watched them. When Fu'ad walked past them quickly, the sisters noticed the scent of feminine perfume on him and whispered that he must have just come from Deedah's place. Ammy overheard them and sighed deeply. Hauwa suggested to Ammy that instead of constantly opposing the marriage, they should just let him marry Deedah so he could see her true colors and eventually divorce her himself. Zahrah added that she heard Deedah had even traveled to America to meet him recently, concluding that Deedah seemed to be his destiny.
Ammy went upstairs to join Baffa and Fu'ad. After dismissing Fu'ad from the room, Ammy expressed her deep worries to Baffa. She complained that their once well-behaved son had changed over the past three years because of that girl, and that his wild lifestyle and reputation abroad were becoming a source of concern for the family's values.
Baffa nodded and revealed that the guest house gateman had already informed him that Fu'ad was just there with the girl. Baffa decided, "I will give him permission to marry her. I pray that marriage guides them both." Ammy felt relieved. Baffa then informed her that tomorrow he would travel to Senegal to visit his sick friend, Usman, and settle an old promise, and he intended to take Fu'ad along to reconnect with his relatives. Later that evening, the large, wealthy, and united Jollore family gathered for dinner, sharing jokes and warmth. During dinner, Baffa noticed Fu'ad's distraction, held his hand, and happily announced that after their one-day trip to Senegal, the family would officially send the marriage proposal items to Deedah's family. Fu'ad was overjoyed and hugged his father tightly.
Meanwhile, Deedah was at home with her mother, complaining about how demanding and overwhelming Fu'ad could be, though she admitted she loved him and his family's massive wealth. Her mother harshly advised her to be smart: "Once you get married, have children for him. He is wealthier than all his siblings. Once we secure the inheritance through the children, we will eliminate his father, then his mother, and finally Fu'ad himself, taking over the entire Jollore empire."
Deedah pouted, admitting she genuinely liked Fu'ad because he was attractive, but her mother reminded her that money is what matters most. Just then, Fu'ad called Deedah to deliver the joyful news that their wedding would hold within a month. Deedah screamed with excitement. After the call, Fu'ad felt a deep sense of happiness that he would finally secure his lover, ignoring his lingering doubts about her faithfulness. He went to sleep, but was soon awoken by a recurring mystery dream where a faceless girl told him: "I will enter your life when you least expect it, Fu'ad. Deedah is not your destiny; she is just your desire. I am your true destiny..."
