Just as Princess Mashlira reached that point in her speech, she turned to look at Humairu and said, "Oh KING OF WARRIORS, I am now ready for you to introduce me to your noble religion."
Upon hearing these words from Mashlira, Humairu was filled with indescribable joy. He recited the Shahada (declaration of faith) for her, which she repeated. Immediately, he proclaimed the greatness of Allah (Takbir) and sent blessings upon the Prophet (Salat) to express his gratitude to Allah.
Then he opened his mouth and looked at her with a radiant face, saying, "Oh Mashlira, know that from today you have become my sister in Islam, and all religious obligations now apply to you."
Upon hearing this, Mashlira turned to face her people and recited the Shahada, and all of them repeated it. Happiness once again filled Humairu's heart, and he thanked Allah for guiding the former idol worshippers to the PATH OF TRUTH.
Just as Mashlira turned with the intention of entering the royal palace, the sound of footsteps and the neighing of horses echoed from the town gate. Everyone hurriedly turned around to see who they were.
When they caught sight of them, intense staring ensued between the newcomers and the townspeople. They were none other than the sorcerer Hushaib, Princess Hulaifa, and the warlord Nuhairu. From a distance, sorcerer Hushaib and his companions fixed their stern, grim gazes upon King Himras and his group.
The first thought that flashed through sorcerer Hushaib's mind was: surely King Himras and his company were the very ones they had been searching high and low for, seeking revenge for being separated from their precious magical chain?
Would they now negotiate with Humairu to face the problem ahead of them?
That was the question they could not answer themselves as the distance between them and the crowd closed. Finally, they pulled on the reins of their horses and came to a complete halt.
In a resounding voice, sorcerer Hushaib opened his mouth and said, "Oh people of this town, know that nothing has brought us to you except to meet the Hero Humairu, follower of the Islamic faith."
Upon hearing these words from Hushaib, Humairu walked forward and approached them as the crowd parted to make way for him. When he reached them, he looked at them one by one, cleared his throat, and said with a radiant face:
"Oh esteemed guests, know that even before your arrival, my Lord revealed your need and your coming here to me in a dream. What brings you here is that you want me to accompany you to retrieve the MAGICAL SWORD, and then find Shajarul-Kair, which will be used to cut the branches of the sacred tree in order to heal the people of your city from the diseases that have afflicted them following the loss of your magical chain."
Upon hearing this speech from Humairu's lips, sorcerer Hushaib and his companions were filled with immense shock and wonder.
Sorcerer Hushaib cleared his throat a second time, took a deep breath, and said, "Oh hero of wonders, know that we are truly amazed at how you knew of our mission to you. We hope you will fulfill our request within a few short days, and name your reward in gold, jewels, and rubies."
Upon hearing this from sorcerer Hushaib, the hero Humairu gave a soft smile that added majesty to his face, looked at Hushaib, and said, "Oh elder, know that I agree to fulfill your request, but all I ask in return is that you submit in faith to my Lord."
Hearing this, sorcerer Hushaib said, "Give me a little time to consult with my traveling companions." Humairu nodded in agreement.
Sorcerer Hushaib moved close to Hulaifa and the others, looking at them as he said, "Now you have heard what Humaira said. Do you think we should agree to his request to believe in his Lord, when our own deity is with us? Do you not think our deity will be angry with us?"
Hearing this, Princess Hulaifa spoke for the first time, cleared her throat, and said, "Oh my support, I believe there is no other path for us but to agree to Humairu's request, because defying him is tantamount to the complete destruction of our city."
Politely, the warlord Nuhairu looked at the princess and said, "I think our deity knows our situation better than anyone; why hasn't it come to our rescue? What is the use of a god that does not wipe away the tears of its worshippers? Agreeing to Humairu's request is the only way out. Furthermore, I want to warn us all not to attempt to take revenge on King Himras, because that would completely ruin our ultimate goal."
When sorcerer Hushaib heard these words from warlord Nuhairu, he nodded in agreement, walked over to where Humairu was standing, and said, "My traveling companions and I have agreed to your request, and we will never betray you."
When Humairu heard this, he was filled with immense joy and cast a questioning glance at Princess Hulaifa, which made both of their hearts beat fast.
"Stay with me in this city for a short while under my care, and then we shall prepare for the journey," Humairu said, stealing a glance at Hulaifa.
Having said that, the hero Humairu turned and led the way, followed by sorcerer Hushaib, Princess Hulaifa, and warlord Nuhairu as they held their horse reins, heading straight into the royal palace. The jinn Humairu also followed their lead.
When that ninety-nine-headed serpent began slashing King Baddadul-arus and his companions across all parts of their bodies, instantly they all braced themselves and let out fierce screams of agony and tormenting pain.
Yet, driven by the RESILIENCE AND BRAVERY characteristic of elite kings and WORLD HEROES, they drew their weapons in that harrowing state and began counter-attacking the serpent with lightning speed, unmatched endurance, and relentless determination.
Every time their weapons struck its body, it felt as though they were hacking at solid rock. The serpent did not flinch in the least; instead, sparks of fire flew accompanied by a harsh, grating sound.
This deeply unnerved King Baddadul-arus and his companions, plunging them into great anxiety as they saw no sign of victory. After a relentless struggle lasting half an hour and fifty minutes with no quarter given—and zero signs of success for Baddadul-arus's side while the serpent had landed over ten strikes on them—they grew desperate.
Ah, truly, calamity has no set date; when the fires of disaster approach, one can only seek a way out. When King Baddadul-arus saw that he and his traveling companions were utterly exhausted, he instantly dived into the ocean of contemplation to find a solution.
Hitting upon a solution, he clenched his fists, grabbed six of the serpent's heads as they lunged at him, twisted them together like braided rope, and ripped them off with all his might. Blood gushed forth and poured onto the ground. The serpent let out a monstrous scream and released King Huraisu and the others whom it had coiled around with its tail; they crashed heavily to the ground, completely incapacitated.
Before the serpent could make another move, King Baddadul-arus leaped into the air like an arrow shot from a bow, brought both hands down, and delivered a devastating punch straight into both eyes located on the creature's giant human-like head.
Instantly, the eyes burst and blood flowed like an open water tap. The beast crashed to the ground without even a twitch, then transformed into a flash of white light and vanished completely as if it had never existed. Slowly, the darkness in the cave receded significantly, and Baddadul-arus and his group spotted a magnificent golden key resting on the ground a short distance away.
Filled with immense joy, King Baddadul-arus sprang up to his feet and walked over to the key, while King Huraisu, Princess Uzaima, Shaibat, and the jinn Zamzaru rose as well.
Calmly looking at them, Baddadul-arus said, "Oh my traveling companions, know that this key you see in my hand is the key to the tomb of sorcerer Sharubu. Despite our dire situation, it is imperative that we reach the tomb to complete our mission."
Hearing this, everyone nodded in agreement. He took the lead and began walking toward the tomb, followed closely by Princess Uzaima.
Upon arrival, everyone stopped. King Baddadul-arus inserted the key into a slender keyhole on the lid covering the tomb and turned it three times. Instantly, the latch clicked open. Baddadul-arus placed his hand and lifted the lid. Truly, no matter how envious a person might be, seeing Baddadul-arus lift that lid made entirely of pure jewels would compel anyone to salute him and affirm that he is indeed a WORLD HERO.
As the lid finished opening, a blinding white light and special smoke billowed out from the tomb, filling the entire cave so intensely that even if a needle dropped, anyone looking could spot it.
With great joy, King Baddadul-arus took the magical chain from his pocket and placed it around the neck of the corpse of sorcerer Sharubu, which lay covered in a magical veil that obscured his face.
The moment this happened, the entire cave of Garul-Shimshan began to shake violently, and a terrifying thunderclap broke out as if a heavy rainstorm was about to burst. This caused King Baddadul-arus, Uzaima, Shaibat, King Huraisu, and the jinn Zamzaru to panic and drop to their knees, bowing their heads.
After a long while in this state, the mountain cave finally stabilized, and a laughter resembling the braying of a donkey broke out.
Like a passing rainstorm, the laughter ceased, and a harsh voice spoke: "Welcome to King Baddadul-arus of the city of Madinatul-Husuf—who aspires to be the king of kings of the Mufrad continent—along with King Huraisu, gifted with talent and wisdom, to the cave of Garul-Shimshan. Hasten to lift your heads and behold the king of sorcerers, Sharubu ibn Shalyasu."
Hearing these words from sorcerer Sharubu, Baddadul-arus and his companions lifted their heads. When they laid eyes on sorcerer Sharubu, they were so terrified that their bodies shook and trembled uncontrollably; before they knew it, they fell to the ground and prostrated before him.
Sorcerer Sharubu was a gigantic man built like the ancient people of Thamud. His face was ugly yet awe-inspiring; his eyes were as red as glowing embers, his nose as broad as a vulture's beak, his mouth as huge as a city gate, his hair stark white, and his mustache and beard pitch black. He was clad from top to bottom in magnificent black battle armor.
Indeed, wherever mighty warriors are sought, sorcerer Sharubu embodied them all, for no living creature could look upon him without freezing in terror.
Sorcerer Sharubu burst into laughter a second time, then scowled as if delivered a message of death, and looked down at King Baddadul-arus and his group as they rose from prostration. He said to them, "Oh you kings, know that in life no creature has ever helped me quite like you. I assure you that I will fulfill your desires to retrieve the book THE MAGICAL GRIMOIRE so you may possess the magical sword of the king of world sorcerers. I swear by my life and death that if I am ever foolish enough to return to the living world to start a new life, I shall become a raging wildfire to every living creature."
With that, sorcerer Sharubu stroked his left biceps with his left hand, and a long magical spear materialized. Pointing the tip of the spear at Baddadul-arus and his group, they instantly felt a surge of tremendous power enter them, and every ailment in their bodies vanished.
Then he pointed at them a second time, and instantly all of them vanished completely as if they had never existed.
This was what happened to King Baddadul-arus inside the cave of Garul-Shimshan, the haven of every earthly catastrophe.
As for the hero Humairu, he spent seven days teaching Princess Mashlira and her people how to worship the Almighty—starting from ritual ablution (wudu), prayer (salah), to the recitation of the Holy Quran.
When Princess Mashlira and her people found themselves immersed in this new life filled with purity and happiness, they were filled with indescribable joy. Everything they undertook was conducted according to his guidance.
Sorcerer Hushaib, Prince Muzaifar, and Sharilat were utterly astonished at how Humairu had transformed the ways of the jungle pagans in such a short time, even down to their clothing and social conduct.
On the morning of the tenth day, after leading Princess Mashlira and her people in the congregational Fajr prayer, hero Humairu announced to King Himras, Princess Hulaifa, and the others that today they would bid farewell to the people of the jungle pagan city to continue their journey.
After preparations were complete, hero Humairu appointed an elder named Abu-Damzur—who surpassed everyone in his understanding of Islam—as the new king of the jungle pagan city until their return from the journey.
Following this decree, the jinn Narguz scooped them all up and soared into the sky at tremendous speed.
The traveling party now numbered nine instead of four: King Himras, Prince Muzaifar, old Kuhairu, female warrior Sharilat, Princess Hulaifa, sorcerer Hushaib, warlord Nuhairu, Princess Mashlira, and hero Humairu.
As the journey commenced, hero Humairu looked at King Himras—who was sitting close to Prince Muzaifar—and asked, "Oh Himras, where are we heading directly now?"
Upon hearing this question, Himras scowled as if handed a DEATH WARRANT and snapped, "Oh Humairu, have you forgotten the agreement between us that you were under Mashlira's care? Therefore, she is the one who should be asking me this."
Hearing this, Humairu opened his mouth a second time to retort, but Mashlira cut him off mid-sentence, turned to the king, and said, "Oh esteemed king, know that although I previously said Humairu was under my care on this journey, he has every right to make decisions he deems appropriate, for he and I are one."
Upon hearing this from Mashlira, warrior Sharilat, Prince Muzaifar, and Princess Hulaifa felt their hearts thump loudly. What did Mashlira mean by saying she and Humairu were one? Had she fallen in love with him, or was it because she embraced his religion?
Unable to answer these questions, they simply watched to see what would unfold.
King Himras looked at Humairu and said, "Now we are heading to the palace of sorcerer Zammar to retrieve the book THE MAGICAL GRIMOIRE, and then we will reach the palace of the king of world sorcerers to retrieve the MAGICAL SWORD."
Humairu let out a sigh, nodded, and said, "That is fine, but I want you to know that whenever the time for our worship arrives, you will instruct the jinn Narguz to make a stop. Furthermore, whenever anything approaches requiring help, I will let you seek assistance from your deity. If they fail to come to your rescue, then I will seek help from my Lord."
Hearing this, King Himras turned his back on him without uttering a single word.
With that statement, everyone fell silent and the journey continued relentlessly through the clouds.
Slowly does it, as the wise say, though it takes time to arrive. Thus the journey continued. The only things that caused halts were either when it was time for hero Humairu's prayers, when someone needed to relieve themselves or sleep, or even quick snacks while riding atop the jinn Narguz without descending to the ground.
After twenty-five days of continuous travel through the morning hours, once everyone had finished their snack and settled down, the palace of sorcerer Zammar ibn Naufal came into view in the distance.
Filled with immense joy, King Himras looked at the jinn Narguz and said, "Oh Narguz, hurry and take us to the gates of sorcerer Zammar's palace."
Upon hearing this command, Narguz spread his wings, swooped down smoothly, and landed right at the threshold of the palace gate.
When they laid eyes on sorcerer Zammar's palace, they were filled with shock and wonder, but everyone also swallowed hard with trepidation.
The palace was colossal and towering like an entire city. It was constructed entirely from glistening black volcanic stone and featured a single, massive door so heavy that fifty mighty men could not have budged it.
When they dismounted from the jinn Narguz, they stared at one another in silence, no one daring to utter a word.
What terrified them even more was how eerie the surrounding jungle was—an absolute stillness hung in the air as if no living creature existed there.
Finally, King Himras broke the silence by striding toward the gate, reciting preparatory incantations, and gesturing with his left hand toward the door to open it. Yet, like a cruel joke, he was soon drenched in sweat while not even a speck of dust on the door was disturbed.
He stepped back, panting like someone who had run a marathon. Seeing this, hero Humairu looked at the rest of the group and asked, "Is there anyone among you with the wisdom or strategy to open this door?"
In response to the question, everyone remained silent, signaling that no one had a solution.
Seeing this, Humairu walked up to the threshold, recited Ayatullah alongside some of the sacred names of Allah and blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him), and gently pushed the door with his hand. To everyone's astonishment, it slowly swung open.
When it finished opening, a brilliant white light streamed out from inside the palace.
This utterly shocked everyone; King Himras was the only one who didn't show it, though his face remained as grim as if hot embers had been tossed upon his head.
What none of them knew was that what Humairu had done was not through his own power, but by the might and sovereignty of the Lord of all creation.
King Himras strode directly into the palace with his sword drawn, while Prince Muzaifar, old Kuhairu, warrior Sharilat, sorcerer Hushaib, Princess Hulaifa, the jinn Narguz, Princess Mashlira, and Humairu brought up the rear with their weapons ready.
Entering the palace, they were struck with even greater astonishment. The palace was filled with luxury and ornaments of all kinds in every corner. Rows of human and jinn warriors stood ready in full battle gear; a single glance made it clear there were no souls residing within their bodies.
Due to the immense depth of the palace, even the keenest observer could not see its end.
They continued walking for a full hundred and fifty seconds until they reached a circular mound. There stood the well of sorcerer Zammar, housing the book THE MAGICAL GRIMOIRE, built from ruby stone and capped with a lid of jewel-encrusted metal.
They crowded around, staring at the well for twenty seconds. Suddenly, the well lid opened by itself, the sound echoing throughout the entire palace. As the lid finished opening, massive hands emerged from the well, and moments later, two monstrous giant jinn (Marid) stepped out, growling terrifyingly.
Indeed, no matter how brave or fearless a person might be, laying eyes on these monstrous jinn would cause them to panic. The jinn were elite warriors with massive limbs, clad in severe...
